Behind the work
The story
RUOK’s mural transformed the side of The Red Lion on Charles Street in Sheffield. Commissioned by Sheffield BID, the artwork provides the setting for a film about the artist and his process. The full film also includes his reflections on ADHD, mental health, art and nature.
A full story and a short introduction
The full documentary lets viewers spend time with the artist and see the mural develop. The portrait social cut presents a shorter entry point to the same project. Together, the two formats show how a people-led story can work as a longer film and as a focused piece of social content.
The outcome
The full film is published on RUOK’s YouTube channel and linked from Sheffield BID’s article about the mural. The artist also published the social cut with a filming and editing credit to Square Two Media.

The short social cut
An 18-second portrait edit gives viewers a shorter way into the mural project. Filming and editing for this separate cut are credited to the Square Two Media team by RUOK.
